Why Are Airplane Windows Round?
The answer
When a plane flies high, the air inside the cabin pushes outward on the walls. Sharp corners collect that push in one spot, and over time a square window's corners could crack. Round windows spread the push evenly all the way around, so they stay strong.
Keep the chat going
Look around your home for round shapes and square shapes, and talk about which ones need to be extra strong.
